NATIONAL WATERDANCE PROJECT January 24 at 5:00 PM

Momentum joins three other Miami-based dance groups to perform a free environmental dance project January 24 at 5:00 PM on Miami Beach. The performance takes place on the beachfront due east of the 71st Street Bandshell in North Beach. Momentum Artistic Director Delma Iles has created a new work that will be performed partially in the water. Works by Michelle Murray and National Waterdance Project Director Dale Andree will also be performed. Enjoy live percussion music! Just walk right up at the waterside! Momentum welcomes new dancers!

Kristen Aoki joined Momentum in October as a full company member. She graduated from the excellent dance program at the University of Utah and will be teaching Momentum's educational Residency at Perrine Elementary this year.

Paula Vasquez joined Momentum as an apprentice in November. She is a native of Colombia and is studying at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus as well as taking dance classes at the Miami Conservatory.

Artistic Director Delma Iles honored!

Momentum Artistic Director Delma Iles has been honored with an award by the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Foundation. The award is for providing outstanding educational dance programming through the Cultural Passport program in 2013-2014, reaching 1,800 first-graders with performances of Carnival of the Animals.
