The Dance Now! Ensemble joins forces with the Dade Heritage Trust in a performance at the Historical Coco Plum Women’s Club in Coral Gables. Description: Two of the world’s most compelling young dance styles come together as Miami meets Mumbai! Miami/Mumbai Night at the beautiful Miami Beach Botanical Garden presents the latest in Bollywood and Semi-Classical Indian Dance with all of the flair, color and drama intrinsic to Mumbai, the home of Bollywood movies and dance. Under the direction of Geeta Dias, dance students from Momentum Dance Company’s Arts in Education Residency at Ferguson Senior High School and Miami Dade College perform original choreography. Plus the evening offers the premiere performance by the latest in Miami-style Hip-Hop with the newly-formed NeSh Dance, the most exciting new troupe on the local scene. NeSh is characterized by an extravagant array of cultural diversity with its international cast of dancers. The crew fuses diverse dance styles from modern to break dance, evolving a personal cultural style that is unique in the Miami hip hop scene. NeSh is committed to passionate creation that reflects a dream and a lifestyle with highly energized choreography in every performance!

Description: Momentum Dance Company joins Shakespeare Miami for an informal evening of poetry readings and improvisational dance based on sonnets and other poetry by William Shakespeare.
May 26 – Film Night. Miami Beach Cinematheque screens the dance classic The Red Shoes. The hard choices the central character must face as she wavers between her personal life and her professional career are still relevant today. Three professional dancers will discuss the difficult personal choices that dancers have to make in today’s professional world. There is limited seating for this event, so buy your tickets in advance!
