MIAMI DANCE FESTIVAL 2015

Schedule of events to date:

 FESTIVAL OPENING EVENT!

April 4 at 2:00 PM and at 8:00 PM - Momentum Dance Company Spring Season 2015. Colony Theater, 1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139. General Admission $25 in advance,  $30 at the door, Students & Seniors $15, Groups of 10 or more $12. Box Office 305-674-1040. For ages 12 and up.

World Premieres of new works by Artistic Director Delma Iles and soloist Emily Noe. Guest Artist Dr. Alan Ngim, piano. Plus, Anna Sokolos's historic 1985 work Poems of Scriabin and Etude, Not Go Gently. 

April 14 at 6:00 PM - Free Lecture/Performance by Guest Company The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company (NYC). MIami Dade College, Wolfson Campus, 485 NE Second Avenue, Room 6400, Miami, FL 33132. For information call 305-858-7002. Limited Seating. For ages 12 and up.

April 18 at 8:00 PM - Festival Guest Company, The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company (NYC). Aventura Performing Arts Center, Aventura, FL. VIP tickets $70, Preferred tickets $40, Adult tickets $25, Students with valid ID $12.

Florida Premiere of Interiors. 

April 29 at 6:00 PM - Artists in Collaboration. Free Admission. Coral Gables Public Library, 3223 Segovia Avenue, Coral Gables, FL. For ages 12 and up.

Momentum artists join artists from other disciplines to discuss the collaborative process, its highs and lows. Delma Iles moderates the discussion. Featuring bluesman Rob Moore, pianist Dr. Alan Ngim, costume designer Marilyn Skow, Flamenco dancer and choreographer Ilisa Rosal. Includes audience Q & A and feedback. Momentum dancers perform short collaborative works.   

May 14 at 7:00 PM - The Arts at St. Johns presents an evening of improvisational dance with Momentum Dance Company and percussionist J.J. Freire. Free Admission. St. Johns on the Bay 4945 Pinetree Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33141 

Momentum's versatile dancers engage in a movement conversation with longtime collaborator J.J. Freire, percussionist.   

FESTIVAL CLOSING EVENT 

May 23 and 24 at 8:00 PM - Ballet Flamenco La Rosa with Guest Artists from Spain. Miami-Dade County Auditorium, 2901 West Flagler Street, Miami, FL. Ticket prices TBA

Artistic Director Ilisa Rosal's World Premiere of a new Flamenco dance drama, El Padre, inspired by Strindberg's dynamic play, The Father. Featuring live music and guest artists from Spain!

Community dance performance featuring works by local dance companies and independant choreographers at PAN, North Miami.

Festival Film Night at the Miami Beach Cinematheque. Film TBA.

An Evening of Water Ballet at the National Hotel's beautiful pool deck.
